Hello my name is Peter Bealo and I am from Plaistow NH. I've
resided here for about 25 years. Professionally, I have been involved in
semiconductor and semiconductor capital equipment engineering, marketing and
product management for over 33 years. I love the fast-paced high adrenaline
industry!
My passions include astronomy, antique telescope collecting
and ham radio. I've been an amateur astronomer since 1968, starting
off as a member of the long-dead "Broome County Junior Astronomers",
graduating to the Broome County Astronomical Society (now the Kopernik
Astronomical Society), and most recently the Amateur Telescope Makers of
Boston (ATMoB). The members of BCAS and ATMoB were both desperate/silly
enough to elect me as their President along the way. My backyard observatory
in Plaistow NH is named the Sweet Hill Observatory. When its cloudy, I fall
back on amateur "ham" radio. I was first licensed in 1978 and have
maintained my call of WB2MJG since. I hold a General Class license. As in
astronomy, I have a small collection of classic radio equipment including
several R-390 receivers.
I am a strong believer in giving back to the community. I
had the pleasure of being an elected member of the Plaistow Budget Committee
for three years, and have served as an appointed member of the Plaistow
Zoning Board of Adjustment for 5 years, most recently as its Vice
Chairman. I was elected to Plaistow's Planning Board for a term and most
recently am a member of the Timberlane regional School District's School
Board as a representative from Plaistow. Zoning, Planning and Education are of increasing interest to me, and I
anticipate working in these areas of municipal government for as long as
they'll have me.
